KY Eating Disorder Council Appointment

Dr. Suleman

We are please to announce the appointment of Dr. Zubi Suleman to the Kentucky Eating Disorders Council by Governor Beshear.

The Kentucky Eating Disorder Council (KEDC) is working to make a difference for individuals and families impacted by eating disorders across the Commonwealth. Created by state law and supported through the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the council brings together experts, advocates, and community voices to improve prevention, treatment, and awareness. By collaborating across agencies and communities, KEDC is helping to expand access to care and shine a light on the very real challenges Kentuckians face when living with an eating disorder.

Through her efforts on resolutions addressing eating disorders and weight stigma, which were formally adopted into KMA’s policy, she has significantly advanced mental health policy. Also, she was honored with awards such as the “Champion of Advocacy” and “Champion of Education & Prevention” by the Kentucky Eating Disorder Council in 2024 and 2025, respectively.  Thank you, Dr. Suleman, for your commitment to improving access to care and education around eating disorders in Kentucky!
